Robert Rogal, director of Rogallery.Com, 47-15 36th Street, LIC, NY 11101 has demanded that artfakes removes a painting from Today’s artfake. The gallery states that it is a work done by the French fauvist painter André Derain. The painting shows a style 100 percent atypical to Derain. He was a leading fauvist and had a grotesque colour scale in his way of painting.


Copyrights forbid artfakes to show you pictures by Derain but we encourage our visitors to look for his paintings at the Internet where one can find several pieces but not a single one similar to the one owned by Rogallery.com


It is correct that the painting (shown in black and white tones on page 13) was put forward for sale at Sotheby’s in New York, Arcade Auction June 12, 1997. But the painting wasn’t sold and it is not declared genuine by Sotheby’s who in their catalogue explicitly writes:

"The property will be offered by us as agent for the Consignor. All property sold AS IS, and neither we nor the Consignor makes any guarantees, warranties or representations, expressed or implied, with the respect to the property or the correctness of the catalogue or other description of the authenticity of authorship, physical condition, size, quality, rarity, importance, provenance or otherwise".

Dear Mr. Madsen,  We demand that you remove any mention and link to our Andre Derain painting which is currently listed on Ebay item#6538657320.  The painting not only has a certificate signed by Expert Michael Kellerman, but was offered in the Sotheby’s Catalogue June 12th 1997, Sale 1575, Lot #13.

If it is not removed immediately, we will pursue legal proceedings against you.

Please confirm in writing that you are withdrawing your statement and removing any reference to, links and any use of our image on the web or elsewhere.
